OPM will be hosting a Hiring Event on October 7th, 2010 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The jobs for which agencies are recruiting are listed on this site. To apply for these jobs, you must submit your application on-line prior to the closing of the job announcement. Those individuals who are determined to be qualified for these jobs may receive an invitation for an interview. OPM is also sponsoring a Federal Careers Workshop Series at the InterContinental San Juan Hotel on October 6th, 2010. The Workshop Series will include sessions on Find & Apply for Federal Jobs, Resume Writing, Interview Techniques, and Pathways into Federal Careers. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Jobs
The Recovery Act was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009. The purpose of the $787 billion Recovery package is to jump-start the economy to create and save jobs. The Act specifies appropriations for a wide range of federal programs. On November 9, 2009, President Obama signed an Executive Order on the Employment of Veterans in the Federal Government, which establishes the Veterans Employment Initiative for the Executive Branch. The Initiative underscores to federal agencies the importance of recruiting and training veterans, aims to increase the employment of veterans within the Executive Branch, and helps recently hired veterans adjust to service in a civilian capacity.
